The Office of State Representative Harold P. Naughton, Jr. is pleased to announce grant funds for the Student Awareness of Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) Program
have been awarded to the Boylston, Lancaster, and Sterling communities for the 2012 fiscal year. A grant of $3,765.00 to Boylston, $4,665.00 to Lancaster, and $4,665.00 to Sterling will be used to further the education on fire safety to those school systems.
“Our office is pleased to see that Lancaster, Sterling, and Boylston will again be awarded grant funds for the S.A.F.E. Program in 2012,” said Chief of Staff, Susan Templeton. “This is a vital program and a valuable resource for young students in the 12th Worcester District and across the Commonwealth. It is important we ensure that our children are learning key elements of fire safety in order to protect themselves if a problem may arise.”
There are many benefits the S.A.F.E. Program initiates, which make it important to incorporate the lessons into school curriculum. The overall goal is for students to develop an understanding of the dangers that fire hazards may cause.
