Chairman Harold P. Naughton, Jr. Thrilled Governor Patrick
has Signed the Wegmans Bill

BOSTON - Representative Harold P. Naughton, Jr., House Chairman of the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security is thrilled for the successful passing of the bill and signing by the Governor, which grants a liquor license to the new Wegmans location in Northborough that is planned to open in October 2011. 

“My colleagues and I have been pulling for this bill for quite some time now. I am very pleased the House and Senate were able to come together to assist Wegmans in successfully passing this bill which grants them an alcohol license.” Rep. Naughton said. The opening of Wegmans will create a number of job opportunities ranging from customer service to management and culinary positions.” 

Wegmans is a major regional supermarket chain, operating 77 stores and employing nearly 41,000 people. According to FORTUNE magazine, Wegmans is listed as one of the top three companies to work for. The newest Wegmans store is planned to open in Northborough this coming fall and will be the first location in New England.
