CAMBRIDGE, MA - House Chairman of Public Safety and Homeland Security Harold P. Naughton, Jr. spoke to members of the Truman National Security Project at the John F. Kennedy School of Government this week. His remarks focused on state level homeland security challenges as well as Massachusetts veteran’s benefits.

“National security and state security issues are constantly a top priority and it is imperative that we have strong, capable leaders who are able to address our complex challenges,” said Chairman Harold Naughton. “We must be able to deal with conflicts quickly and arrive at satisfactory resolutions. Our veterans are so crucial to this process. We have to ensure our veterans are taken care of and are receiving the benefits they need and deserve. Having the right leadership is crucial to getting veterans the proper health and educational benefits. Our veterans put themselves on the line for the safety of this country. It is important that we do the same for them.”
The Truman National Security Project (TNSP) aims to provide the skills, knowledge, and network to create an influential force of leaders across the country who advance strong progressive national security policy. The Truman National Security Project is a national security leadership institute, the nation's only organization that recruits, trains, and positions a new generation of progressives across America to lead on national security.
